Have you guys noticed a lot of BBM Channels are being abandoned?

Someone needs to go through them and delete the ones that have not supplied a post in the last 6 months. Or ask the owners if they intend to continue with them.

BBM Channels was / could be promising. I see it dying on the vine, except for a few well maintained efforts.

Amazon came on board, deals of the day, then abandoned, same with many other national / international content providers. Fortune Magazine ran July 7th - August 14th, WSJ April 30th - June 20th, USA Today dead since August 22nd, Verified Channels (official channel) no posts since Sept 8th. CrackBerry does very little with its channel.

Mercedes-Benz f1 is holding in and doing a great job, Time magazine is very active, surely others, likely some non-USA channels with international and regional brands hanging on.

Will be sad to see a great idea fade away due to lack of implementation, just like BBM Music ( which was awesome! ).

Simple answer: not enough people using BBM channel. That means a CO that is used to have 500k follower on twitter/Facebook is not willing to waste time posting on channel when it only has 50k subscribers that follow it anyway on twitter/facebook.

Right now channels feels abandoned, like an unwanted child.

Either blackberry kills it or it starts developing and fine tune it again. This half-baked status is awful.

Great channels and some fun subscriber banter / stuff, but too much PIN spam, 3rd world horndogs assaulting very female with "hi" or some pigeon English proposal. Every time a channel was featured or built a decent subscriber base, the comments sections went to he77!

BlackBerry needed/needs to allow tiered moderaton of comments: (1) trusted sub - free to comment (2) blocked sub - No comments allowed (3) moderated sub - only allow comments after modding.

Also need a serious personal pin / channel pin spam blocking feature that could be set by channel owners.

Yes, this would be one of the first features to implement in order to make channels better.

The problem is, bbry has not touched channels in at least 6 months! It's abandoned at the moment...

I commented on this on another thread. Its possible that Channels will have an insurgence when Blend opens up to everyone and management can be performed on a wider screen. To freaking hard to manage your channel on a handset

    Yep.

PIN spam with sexual motives is killing it. There are a few nice inspirational, artistic and even Christian channels there, and this behavior certainly doesn't help... :-(
