I'm on an STL100-1 as well with 10.1.0.237
And mine seems to be fine.
My mom's too and pretty much everyone I know with one.
Maybe it somehow has something to do with your network?

Has any of you tried turning off your mobile data, contact to wifi and then try change the profile pic?

I have the same problem from the same period [around a month]

Except that I can't even tap on the display pic bar.. I can only change my dp through the gallary.. but even that wont work cause others dont see it changing

I tried to pull the battery out and searched for a way to reinstall the BBM because I have the latest version, and that also failed


Seems that we will have to wait for a new update for the BBM

Mine is no problem now since upgraded to OS 10.1.4181 by telkomsel. I'm in indonesia. STL100-1

I'm also having issues but the main function of BBM being sending and receiving messages is working so it's all good, it's not that big of a deal. As long as the issues are temporary.

For the people still experiencing issues, have you tried the following;
- Make sure you have the most updated software
- setting one of the built-in standard images or gifs as your profile picture
- trying a different format image
- have no profile picture set for 10-30 mins, and then try a pic you haven't tried before or one of the standard ones
- take a picture with the device and try set that as your profile pic
- in BBM settings make sure show display picture is on
- if you have wifi, try setting your picture using the Wifi connection

Hey guys try doing this and see if it solves your BBM problems i tried it and it worked very well.......Check out Blackberry Beta Zone in Blackberry World on your phone!. After doing the download, open and you will see BBM Channel, open it and upgrade, when the upgrade is finish reset your phone and you will see all probs will be solved......Best of luck guys!! For the moment it seems that people running beta BBM Channels will have issues with BBM to iOS devices. So might want to consider that.
As far as I know up to date STL100-1 devices should be on OS 10.1.0.4633 Software 10.1.0.4181
So you might want to look into that as well
