Can You Video Chat BBM BB10 and BBOS?

My oldest son has the 9900 I think with the forward facing camera and I have the z10
. No problem voice chatting but can't seem to figure out the video aspect of it. Anybody using it out there in bbm land and what's the trick? Thanks

It is not a Z10 to Z10 thing, it is only for BB10, and No BlackBerry before BB10 had a front-facing camera.

Just you tubed it . I guess it's only a z10 to z10 thing. I'm loving the phone but for life of me I don't know how i'm going to get all my bbm friends to buy a Z 10. Another great option that I can't use? Why bother with the bells and whistles. That's 2 items I have found that I can not use. To bad hopefully the future updates will correct these things. No media player icon is the other one. Can't get Bell TV or Sirius radio. Are you serious. Lol

Your bbm friends can also purchase a q10. The 9900 has a led light on the front, no camera.

I can't think of any BBos devices that have a front facing camera. Only ones I'm aware of are the Z10, Q10 and Playbook and you can video chat with any of those 3 right now.....oh and also the Q5 too which hasn't been released yet.

There's no FFC on pre-BB10 phones. Are you sure you're not confusing the LED with a FF camera?

It's not a camera...either the LED or a light-sensor.

EDIT: Could also be a Q10....

Have you looked at it closely? If there's no trackpad, it's a Q10. If there is one, then it could be a 9900 and you're confusing something with the FFC.

Why don't you post a pic of his phone with your z10?? It's much quicker than all this back and forth.

If it does have a front facing camera, then there should be a way to activate it in the camera app.

None of the 9900 models had a front facing camera. They have a light sensor and LED, and possibly a proximity sensor. The only thing you can do between BB10 and BBOS is voice - no video.
