    Hello,
I tried updating my blackberry z10 today and sometime while it was updating the battery died! I thought I had it plugged in but I guess it wasn't. Now when I try to use my blackberry certain apps and functions will not work and apps will freeze once you try to open them or they don´t open at all. I can still turn it on but without the full use of all my functions and apps it is quite frustrating and to be honest useless to use. I have tried powering it off, removing the battery, re-updating it, and even factory re-setting it but to no avail. Nothing I do will work. Has this happened to anyone or can anyone suggest something for me to do? I just want my blackberry working the way it was. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you have a back up (if not do one first) then try a full security wipe. You need to actually wipe the app data. Don't restore app data. Manually re-install the apps. Only restore contacts and maybe -- settings.

Apps are not just third party but first party. Sounds like something is corrupted. The only way to start fresh is a security wipe. You'll find it under settings > security and privacy.

But the problem is: I can not do the security swipe because I can not go in to the "settings" because if I press "settings" button nothing will happen.

    thanks

I think... think you'll want to soft brick the phone and reinstall the OS as a first step. Read up on it though. Maybe someone else will chime in on that.

There might be a way to security wipe from within BlackBerry Link. Not sure. You looked at the Link help file?

You said you already tried a factory reset from within Link, correct?
