    My BlackBerry Messenger has no microphone icon to send a voice message. My friend who I chat with has the microphone icon. When she sends me a voice message I can respind with voice by touching and holding her message but I can't initiate one.

    You should see a microphone if you thumb the "paper clip." The voice note is an attachment.
