As the subject says. Virgin Media wifi which is mostly free, gives BBM calls and video while underground with no Signal.

And even better than that - if you *just* want to use voice/video then you don't even need to 'log in' to the Virgin portal!!!

BIS/BES won't connect but the voice part of BBM connects and goes online just fine without logging in. You may even be able to use it without registering for Virgin access though I've not tested it yet.

I have a VM account since I am a customer. Interesting. This means there is ports open that doesn?t require logging in to the hot spot.

Indeed - I thought it was quite odd as I expected BBM voice to be tunneled back to RIM...

I've never had time to get the laptop out and sit & play, I suspect there a many ports open, I will try things like SSH at some point and see what results that gives me.

I need to 'de-register' one of my devices, or take a fresh device down there and see what happens..
