It's safe just not on their insecure Android and iOS devices.

It's Android itself that makes BBM unsecured, BlackBerry devices totally unaffected.

No such thing as a Heartbleed scanner, to my knowledge. I'd be suspect of whatever app they're using. Seems bbm is vulnerable on their non BlackBerry devices. http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/b...ListHelperImpl

The only malware I've had on my Z10 is from an Android app. Refer your friends to this article as well. http://money.cnn.com/2014/04/11/tech...artbleed-gear/

BBM is not vulnerable. Read the KB Article:

    "BBM on Android
This vulnerability is mitigated by the connection architecture, in that the service only connects to a known and trusted end point.

    BBM on iOS
This vulnerability is mitigated by the connection architecture, in that the service only connects to a known and trusted end point."

Download Noted, my 5-star rated, native BB10 notepad app.

Very hard to achieve total security between devices, if one of the OSes is lacking security (iOS, Android) .

That is why BlackBerry's end-to-end security solution including BB phones is the best, and despite BBM, eBBM, BES and secure workspace for the other OSes, I say it again, BB2BB is still the best.

Enterprise needs to know before buying into iOS or Knox.

BlackBerry acknowledged this and is issuing a patch in very short order. They issued a press release immediately and are dealing with this asap. They also states that because of other security features built into BBM it would take a third party much longer to exploit this than it will take them to patch it.
