They're selling phones at shopblackberry.com - why not market BlackBerry hardware to all users of bbm directly through the app? Might be helpful marketing to users of bbm especially on other platforms.

BBM shop is very new. They probably should.

Some mechanism to order unlocked phones in BlackBerry World might be a good idea too!

This will be a mess! BBM shop is not a BlackBerry phones shop. It's a BlackBerry Messenger shop!

Or its a shop that happens to be on bbm. I wouldn't neglect a direct opportunity to market to bbm users across platforms. Could easily be done.

They might run into some resistance from the other platforms if they were trying to sell phones in a store primarily designed for in-app purchases. Not to mention the fall out when someone "accidentally" charges a $400 phone to their credit card.

Have to agree with Thesmartmale. It is a shop for the messenger service not for BlackBerry. BBM is an app and the shop is exclusively for items for the app so I don't think it will make sense.

But its definitely good to think outside the box

Hmm I don't know, a Blackberry is the ultimate BBM "accessory". Lol.

After having ordered from shopblackberry(dot)com twice already, I for one think that a shopblackberry app would be a very logical and useful addition to make or maybe tie it in to BlackBerry World somehow (no reason to just sell apps and media there).
I know that people don't buy new unlocked devices everyday, but since they now sell them along with original accessories, why not make it easier on your customers?

A shopblackberry section could be done in a way that wouldn't really clutter up the app IMO).

You could use it to showcase accessories.
Granted, it wouldn't be an app that would be used very often by the average person, but it can be a "model" to illustrate to other shopping services what a good BB10 shopping experience can be like on an OS10 app.

One of my biggest gripes with the CB10 CrackBerry app, is the horrendous "store" section. It's just unusable (a magnifying glass or microscope would be needed to use it) and looks like an old mobile WAP site from 10 years ago.
