Lock your phone. BlackBerry is about security. If you want to secure your device take the appropriate measures.
yeah I obviously lock my phone. but what's the harm if bbm can be locked?

Why? I don't see the purpose of locking BBM if you keep your device locked. Can you explain or give some insight as to what the benefit would be.
Hassle to enter a password all the time. It's just not that... needed.
well there should be an option to turn it on. if someone does not want to use then they don't have to. simple :)

The more it is protected the better. nothing to explain. and if you don't like the idea you don't have to comment here. I gave this post hoping someone from BlackBerry would see it and maybe consider it. Didn't want a reply from an extremist trying to impose his ideas forcefully

If you want BlackBerry to see it, post it on icanmakeitbetter. That being said, don't be a ****.
And where do you see the "extremism" you are talking about, and why are you considered "forced"? All I can see is a legitimate question from the "extremist" ('Can you explain or give some insight as to what the benefit would be?'). Actually, the most aggressive reply here belongs to you.
I think the point here is: If you don't trust the person you are letting use your phone, don't give it to them to begin with. There is no practical use-case for password locking BBM.
i think people would want to use the password locking of bbm to hide bbm conversations. could be that you let your kids play a game or browse the internet and they don't want them to access the messages. or replace the kids with the wife and the messages from the gf :rotfl:
what i think might be a problem is hub integration.
just mt 2c
Enable parental control and disable BBM from there and enable it when you want. The feature is password protected

I agree with you 100% Necro. It would be nice to be able to lock. BBM or lock individual messages, especially when you have kids. You may not necessarily be against your kids picking up your phone to play a game but may not want them to bump into a group chat with your closest buds, talking smack on BBM.

I don't see why that's so difficult to understand for some. I guess I'm just thinking like a dad. Nevertheless, I'm with you on that Necro.
