Having done a security wipe, tried to restore my bbm contacts, using my BBID. Partially managed to do that - can't send messages to private contacts, but I can send messages in a group. I can also receive bbm's instantly. I only see the PIN's of the group I am part of (BlackBerry Romania) and not the photos. I mention also that I used the same BB ID to install BBM on an Android phone. But when setting up BBM after restore from back up, the phone asked whether I want to switch to Z10, my BB phone, which I did. Nothing worked: registration in the BB, battery pulls, simcard taken out.
Could it be because I used the same BBID to install BBM on an Android phone? Wouldn't say so, since after I restored from back up the Z10 asked whether I want to switch to BBRY phone. It's funny, I get instant BBM's, but I really can't send anything, it just the tick mark there, no D's.

    Thank you for your support.

Yes I thought you needed a sep pin to install on an Android phone.
But since I don't have an Android, I can't be sure. I hope someone can answer this for you soon!!

Welcome to CrackBerry! and we hope to get you an answer soon.

I've had a similar problem with a fried SIM card. Ask your carrier to replace it.

If it were for the broken SIM card, I guess none of the BBRY services would work, such as emails or other apps. The phone works just fine, with the exception of BBM, it can't get set up, "associating BBM with BB ID" forever"...The carrier has no reply to that, and if that is not solved in the next couple of days, I am returning my Z10 for replacement or servicing. Thank you all for replies.

    Hello,

I had same problem, below solution.

"Based on the information that you provided, the issue you are experiencing
should be resolved by following the steps.

    1. Install the latest version of BBM Channels from BlackBerry Beta Zone,
    <https://blackberry.com/beta> https://blackberry.com/beta.

    Cause.

The device previously had BBM Channels beta installed and is now using a
    production version of BBM"

    1. I had to sign up to BB beta - I had to do this via a computer as I got a
"not available in your country" error message when I tried to do it on my
    phone.

    2. Once you have sucessfully registered with BB beta and confirmed your
email go to the 'Programs' tab and register to take part in the BBM Channels
    programme.

    3. Select the correct version for your OS

    4. You will recieve a link to download the app. Clink on the link from your
phone to download. Phone then reboots.

    5. You will recieve a code to authorise the app once you have downloaded. -
(to be pasted into the bit where you agree T&C when you start up BBM)

Now that I recall, I DID have a version of BBM Channels installed via the Beta Program, but it was on my Bold 9900.

I did not put BBM Channels or any BBM Beta on my Q10. I'm going to try to upgrade to the latest BBM Beta and see if it resolves the issue...

Hello! Never had BBM channels installed on my Z10. Unfortunately, I can't access the beta zone, since I live in Romania, country not included (been waiting like forever for that, maybe we are not worthy of it...). However, having done a couple of security wipes and courtesy of Orange support, all of a sudden the phone is back to life. Had a couple of unexpected shutoffs in the meantime, but as of yesterday, it's business as usual. Thank you for your support.

Yes, same here. I still don't know the cause, the Orange support staff said it was not a BlackBerry issue, just isolated pins, but happened to users here. Now it's fine, working as usual.

I've had this problem for some time now. The send is sporadic, mostly not sending. At first I thought it was because I was sending to an iPhone. But lately I've had problems sending to other BlackBerry phones. I have the newest BBM Channels and OS. Very frustrating when trying to contact someone.
