The website and emails I got directly from BlackBerry say "Android 4.0 and iOS 6 or higher is required. Tablet devices not supported."

To be fair; there isn't currently a BBM client for PlayBook either...
    4.0.4 not working.

I think you clicked on an advertisement button.

Try the mega instead. The file size is 12mb.

Disapointing that they've chosen not to 'officially' support tablets as I was going to announce to all our BB 7 and BB 10 users tomorrow that BBM is now cross platform, which I now will not do until I've had a chance to test it (I only have access to my Nexus 10 and BB 7 and 10 devices).

The original announcement for BBM cross platform stated they wouldn't support tablets initially.

Nexus7, BlackBerry PlayBook, Nook, iPad mini would be OK. 10"tabs seem a bit silly

if you want to install bbm on your nexus 10, just edit your nexus build.prop file, change the device name with something else like SGS 4 or SGS 3 , but you must root your device first...

Doesn't need to be rooted. Install apk and done.

Yes, it's just a matter of going into settings and allowing Unknown Sources. And if you're an Android user, AirDroid and Astro File Manager are your friend.

You don't need a separate client for the Playbook, especially if you have a BB. BBM is bridged.

I'd install it on my Nexus 7 but since we are limited to one device per BBID, I think I'll wait. Don't want to continually activate it on whatever device I am using. Hopefully multiple device support comes soon.

The ability to use BBM on multiple devices is definitely a must if they are serious.

Are you 1st gen or 2013? Play store says my 2nd gen Nexus 7 (stock) is not compatible. Even though BBM.com says it works on 7" or smaller screens. And just think -- the banned leaked version even worked on my Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Combine that with the huge battery drain on my Note 2 and BBM for Android keeps looking less attractive.

Is it one device or one device at a time? The leaked version could switch devices, but conversations would only show the part of a conversation that occurred on whichever device was in use.

Most Android users, including myself, are not experiencing a huge battery drain as a result of BBM.

One device per BBID. Something they need to work on, definitely.

Yes it will work on wifi. If you sideload it to your tablet it works fine on WiFi only. You just can't download it from Google Play.
