Your device isn't compatible with this version

... on my Google Nexus 10, NEXUS 10 !!!, stock Android 4.3 on a tablet so nothing weird or odd.

So disappointing, is BBM only going to be for 'phones' then ?.

I installed the apk from Mega to avoid creating an account with a myriad of other file sites. I simply downloaded to my pc and emailed my Nexus 7. Initially I had to change setting to allow this file the tablet told me which I did and VOILA I now have my BBM running on my Nexus 7. Took a quick learning curve for an apk newbie but in the end couldn't be happier.

If you jump over to the Apple Apps store it say that iPad are compatible ....but it look like they required a cellular connection.
I do believe that may this also apply to Android device.

The website and emails I got directly from BlackBerry say "Android 4.0 and iOS 6 or higher is required. Tablet devices not supported."

To be fair; there isn't currently a BBM client for PlayBook either...
