    Hi!
My sister can only send and receive BBM messages over wi-fi, not on cellular. BBM Voice works on both. What could be the problem? She has reregistered to the BlackBerry network within Settings - About - Network - ... - Register BlackBerry. No change.

    Z10, 10.2.0.x, Austria, carrier: tele.ring

Hmm that is odd. Have you tried removing and reading the contacts?

I've read in BlackBerry World, searched for BBM:

    "* Compatible BlackBerry 10 devices, Wi-Fi, 4G or HSPA+ connection required."

Can it be that BBM texting doesn't work because she is only on 3G? But why is BBM Voice and Video working? Odd isn't it?

Sorry for that. I've missed something. The BlackBerry logo IS NOT THERE. She has "3g". I think it's a difference between 3g and 3G right? What's the problem there? Doesn't her provider support BlackBerry (NOC)?

What device is she running? BB10 devices don't need carrier-supported NOC connections. And yes, 3g (lower-case g) means she does not have a data plan/connection but only has voice calling services. Make sure she has a data plan and it switches to "3G".

I've the same problem with BBM in my BlackBerry Z10. It function only in Wi -Fi, not in the actually carrier data. The logo of BlackBerry does not appear at the upper right corner as in the previously carrier! There is Internet data via cellular, but no BBM. What can I do? Thanks in advance!

Hi! She has a open Z10 from Amazon. But she has active data plan. Sometimes it changes from 3g to H+ but BlackBerry sign in the up right corner comes only on WiFi.

Is there a special APN she has to set? I've heard about an APN name "BB10". What does this mean?

Did she recently add data to a cellular plan? They may have forgot to switch that over properly. Did you call the provider yet?

She has activated data plan. She can browse the web, use WhatsApp, use BBM Voice and BBM Video, send emails and so on... But no BBM messaging :-(

Do you have a BlackBerry phone yourself? If yours works, swap your sim with hers and see if that works. Check the settings if they are the same.

I've put my sim card into my sister's phone and everything seems to work fine. We got the BlackBerry sign in the up right corner and it shows 3G (upper G). My card is from Three (3) austria. Her card is from tele.ring - it's an sub provider from T-Mobile austria. Could it be that such small sub providers doesn't support BlackBerry (NOC)? What's going on here? We've tested three different sim cards / providers:
    - tele.ring: no BlackBerry sign up right, no BBM messaging (only BBM Voice and Video)
    - T-Mobile: everything is fine
    - Three (3): everything is fine

I've tried a few more things to get BBM messaging working on tele.ring but without any success After that I called their technical support hotline and they told me that there is no deal / agreement / contract with BlackBerry so far and that they are unable to give me support. WTF! That sucks doesn't it? What should I do now? I want to tell to all my friends and family how good BBM is but now I can't do that because tele.ring is a popular and cheap carrier and many ppl are customers. BBM must be independent of such contracts between carriers and BlackBerry to become real BBM 4 ALL.
