I inquired about the cost per minute. I'm waiting for response.

Here is the response on received from tech support. As you can see, additional clarification is needed

Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Technical Support.
I really appreciate your patience with us; I just confirmed with our next level of support and this is what I received:
If you use any of the numbers listed in the website or in the message you received, within the same country, there is not free; however, if you call the number and is not in your country; then you will received a charge of the person who is calling; regarding the charge, it will depend on the charges of your carrier.
If you require further assistance, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you again for contacting us.
That makes little sense

Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Technical Support.
Thanks for your reply; I'm sorry if I did not make myself clear, these are the options:
If the person who is trying to join by phone is calling from a different country than the one where the host is at; there will be a charge.
For example, if you are in The United States hosting a BBM meeting and you invite me to join over the phone and I am in the US too, then there is not charge because I will use the tool free number for US since both parts are in the same country.
In the other hand, if you are hosting from US and I want to join by phone from England, then there will be a charge since both parts are not in the same country.
In other words, if both parts are in the same country; there is not charge.
If you require further assistance, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you again for contacting us.

Hhaha. This still doesn't make sense. Why offer a UK number, if calling it (even if it is local) results in a fee? :S Whomever is representing this answer to you is loopy.
When I called into BB support, it wasn't much better. I don't think the tech support folks have been adequately briefed on BBM Meetings.
I agree. More clarification still needed.

I opened up a case asking about it too - hopefully we'll get more info soon.
can non BBM users log in via mobile browsers?
Can videos be played and shared to participants?
I need to pull the trigger FAST on a solution for an equipment use training session. Need to interact with a few trainees in one location, share / discuss documents, show a power point, and play a video.
BBM Meetings or something else?
You can share your screen and play a video. No problem there.

If you need to use mobile iOS/Android/BB10/WP or have a desire for video conferencing, BBM Meetings could be a best-in-class solution.
Join.me is $15/month and that's with no video chat, and just an iPad app for presenting.
BBM Meetings costs less than that. Yes, it does away with conference numbers, so calling in is done through the smartphone. With recording capability from desktop app. I could totally see myself firing up the meeting on my Z10 and then joining from my laptop as well.
Before 12/4 /14 that statement would have been a lie because BBM Meeting was not available for iOS devices.
Finally, on 12/4 bbm meetings we made available in the iTunes app store.
Now, things should get rolling. I'll test it out tonight.

Wait, what?
How could you "renew" your subscription so soon?
The BBM Meetings subscription is billed annually. The service has only been available for less than 1 month.
I don't get it.

I did the one month trial. So, I now have the option whether or not to go on.

I'm not seeing this on the iPad? I am based in the UK.
I pulled the trigger and have tested it twice.
First was me hosting from my Passport and the other party on a laptop. Couldn't play a video from the phone during the meeting. Other end had to try several screen options within BBM Meetings to be able to view photos, documents, or a PowerPoint (at first could only view top half of my shared screen). Will be very easy to host via the passport, exception being no ability to play video - anyone have a different experience?
2nd was me hosting via laptop and other parties were my son on his Android (Samsung) and me on my Q10 sitting on the windowsill. Everything was awesome. Q10 had its audio automatically muted due to the interference with the nearby speakers on the laptop, it did provide a pop up option to connect to audio via a phone call into the meeting which I thought was pretty cool. Played video well, and I was still able to speak and be heard even though audio was streaming with the video ( had to make adjustments via the slider on the player NOT the keyboard controls).
Tried to join my boss in on his iPad, but the link told him his system was incompatible (not sure which iPad). My son said his invite link had an Android or iPhone choice for DL'ing necessary software. Didn't give any of the parties instructions other than "Follow whatever instructions come to you via email". No problems on their end, and neither test subject is particularly "techie".
Awesome job, Meetings will be a big part of our business moving forward

Good feedback!
Have you been able to test the recording features from the laptop hosted meeting?

Haven't tried, but looks simple enough. Will try over next couple of days.
