Just updated the BBM Channels Beta, hoping it would fix some of these bugs I'm having with xbbm, and instead I'm greeted with this f*ing lost connection screen, again.

Can someone confirm whether bbm no longer likes to play nice with wifi? Do you have to have a cellular connection for it to work properly??

So f*ing annoyed at a time I should be so happy with BlackBerry (first, my zed10 went black and died, now having issues with xbbm)

Thanks for the response. I wish I knew how to fix this issue and use bbm with the android and iOS users I sold on using it!

Thanks, turned off both radio and wifi, turned back on. Restarted device. No dice.

I'd like to suggest I have a lemon, but my initial zed10 which I've had since Feb went black on me and died last week.

This is a clean refurbished device. Brand new OS 10.2.

Good idea to start a new thread about this issue. Someone will figure it out.

I had a problem a while back, brought on by all the variations of leaked OS's, and the BETA Channels, where none of my BBM messages were being delivered (red 'X'). Someone told me to delete BBM (easier said then done - but I did it), restart the handset, and then re-install non-beta, non-Channels official BBM. I did, but still had a problem until I had each of my contacts send me a message. Then it all cleared out and everything was normal. Then I re-installed Channels Beta on top again, and all still good. Hope that doesn't happen again, but of course these are the risks we take when we play with leaked OS's and Beta software. :-)

i couldn't send a message even if i wanted to, although i would be open to deleting bbm but it comes preinstalled on my bb. how did you do it

I used special tools. I think it was Sachesi. What you do is actually install a regular BBM over your existing one. When you do this, it removes the read-only flag, and allows you to delete these system apps just like you would delete any other. Then restart, then re-install again. If you want to go this route, let me know and I will try to help by checking exactly what I used, and sending you some BAR files. Others here could help you too, I'm sure.

Thanks for the suggestion - how do I get my hands on that app that allows me to overwrite bbm channels beta with stock bbm?? I like trying new features with beta versions, but stability and usability for godsake takes priority! Especially at a time like this with xbbm.

    Much appreciate the assistance

Been having the same problem for the last few hours. Started shortly after installing the new bbm channels update. Really sucks. I'm about to delete it and reinstall and see if that helps.

After deleting bbm and re installing channels it seems to be fixed. I don't know for how long but it's working for the moment.

    Fixed!

Removed sys.bbm using the Google Chrome bb10 manager and installed the sys.bbm 10.2.0.53.bar.

No more channels beta for me...for now. Too many issues, I'll have to wait for the official release.

My group profile pic came back for one of the my three groups, the other two I added new and now they show.

Thanks for all the responses and help, hope this solution helps anyone else with the same issue.

btw how did you delete bbm? did you use the same method above or you have some or way?

My last backup included the same bbm channels beta version so that wouldn't have made a difference for me....

Yes I deleted the channels beta sys.bbm file using the playbook /bb10 manager extension in Google Chrome. Then reinstalled the clean non channels sys.bbm file using the same method.

Worked beautifully. Unfortunately had to go through all that to get here, but I'm good.
