I've been running BBM on iOS and Android for an hour or two now, and immediately I'm noticing some issues - I cannot BBM to iOS or Android from EITHER my Z10 or Q10. I can receive messages on my BB10's, but can't reply. I get the X beside the message, and it refuses to send.


Just a heads up before it goes fully live for everyone.

Not sure if this will work itself out, or what the issue is.

Anyone else in the same boat?

for me, i get the request, i accept but it doesnt add,
and just now it changed to only they can invite me

you can only use BBM on one device per ID. You will have to create more than 1 ID to have it completely active on all devices. I dont like this either and wish they did it more like hangouts works.

I'm sure, hang in there. I sent a chat request to a blackberry contact and I get a red X. I'm sure it is because they haven't placed the US online yet, so to speak. I am thrilled that it works so well though, and I'm getting notifcations. You get a little BBM icon with a red star on your top toolbar when a message comes in, too

Would have made sense for them to get the infrastructure ready during the week and just switch it over today no?

Just like cleaning up the fake BBM apps in the Play Market. That should have happened a while ago, not on go live day!

Anyway, not going to rant anymore. Think I'd leave that to others for now, but BlackBerry's execution always seems to disappoint nowadays.

I had this problem with my girlfriend and her BB7 phone. We both had to erase each others contact info and then restart our phones. Then my bb10 phone added her bb7 pin and all was well again.

Maybe it's a similar bug?

The issue is for ppl running the beta versions of the BBM app on BlackBerry 10. At least that's what I've found it to be. Ppl on forums saying the same thing

I suspect the issue is likely for those tricking (setting local to New Zealand, when that's not your district) their phones to run BBM where the release hasn't happened yet.

I am holding out telling any of my non BlackBerry friends until it's official for the area and I know it's working.

Same with me, I accepted an invite from a mate in india and I can receive but not send. I don't know whether he's IOS or Android though.

I'm almost certain the issue must be BlackBerry's servers. I have the official versions on both my Android devices, and iOS - yet I cannot send messages from any BlackBerry 10 device. Since they're official, I can't see it being the Application versions...

Apparently servers are being overloaded, so would explain alot.
Some people are chatting bb10 to Android/iOS flawlessly.
I reckon give it a day or so at the very least. With all the BlackBerry bashing that goes on I think people have largely underestimated the demand for BBM
