    Hi and welcome.
I can't see any screen shot posted here. However, sounds like you need to remove the battery and wait about 35 minutes for the thing to cool down. When I had this issue on my Z10, the only thing that fixed it was to reload the OS as there was some app that was constantly running in the background and it was making my phone so hot I could not hold it. It would burn my hands.

Turn off location services in BBM and see if that makes a difference - some have said it fixed the problem for them.

Nothing is helping...battery is down in few hours.
Surprisingly it is happening even if bbm is not used at all.

Anyone has found the solution for this issue. The same issue happens in my BlackBerry Q5. Im not using BBM but it is eating up my battery. But if i switch off the mobile for 10-15 mins and charge the mobile for 10 mins while mobile is OFF, and then swithc ON my mobile, goes good for next 2-3 days without any issues. Then the same occurs again. Very annoying. Please help me

Same problem on my z10 with os 10.2.2, sometimes bbm starts acting strange, using al lot of cpu together with system. Draining the battery in a couple of hours. Only solution is to restart the phone, since you can't restart bbm! It's still a crappy app! I love it but do not trust it in terms of battery usage.

Had the same issue too. Cause I don't use Bbm the solution for me was to turn on parent control option and turn off Bbm there. But now I can't change wallpaper - the button is unclickable. ((

Having the same issue with my father's Z30, BBM using 30% +, my Z10 is less than 1%. Any ideas on how to fix his battery is getting hot and draining. Thanks

same thing has just happened with my Z10. Was fine until a few days ago with the last BBM update. is there any way to roll back to the last version by any chance? I've turned off location services, ended all my chats, cleared my chat history to no avail. I've tried removing the battery while powered to wall, (that actually helped slightly) but battery barely lasts the day on standby.

I have the same issue recently. BBM acts up every once in a while. I do a hard reset and everything goes back to normal. Seems to happen every one to two weeks.

I haven't had this exact issue. In past year, I had one major crash and removing battery is all that fixed it.

Same issue here! BBM is just far from being a well developed app. Sorry to say, but BlackBerry is loosing a lot of credibility with this data hungry, battery chewing full of bugs app. Before they launched it to other OS, at least they could have fixed it for their very own OS.
