Upon switching from the passport to the priv, all of my old conversations are missing. Is there a way to restore them? Thanks!

I'm constantly switching from BB10 to another BB10 device or a Priv and back, and I never succeeded in rescuing my chats, regardless of what I tried. I came to the conclusion that this just doesn't work.
For me, the much bigger issue is, that no group chats nor images are being restored completely after a device swap. Sometimes, much less group images are being restored, sometimes none at all. For those images that come back, often only half of the comments show.
I have no idea why BlackBerry still couldn't (didn't want to?) fix this, as this is a server feature, and changing phones should not be something unusual in 2016.

Same also or me when I switched from my Z3 to Z10 my BBM messages were not restored. I think blackberry should try and fix this as i
