I like where BBM Channels is headed but I feel like for it to gain traction it has to have greater visibility. If you don't know that channels exist, you could easily open BBM and never know it was there. I'm not sure what the proper solution is but one idea is to replace the 'groups' button on the bottom and replace it with channels. As once you have an active group chat it will just show up in the 'chats' page.

Not a bad idea. Or simply add a channel button along the bottom as we'll next to,the groups.
