Yeah from the update today. My gifs will surely suffer I was averaging around 4 - 5 MB for match highlights , now the quality will be sacrificed I guess they want to limit server congestion

Not just server congestion but my data usage in BBM skyrocketed ever since BBM Channels was launched. And I can tell some people use really high quality images because for one thing, the images take longer to load and you can zoom in quite a bit!

That would be like asking Facebook to disable Ads to avoid extra clutter.

Or Twitter to disable Sponsored Tweets.

While it makes sense to us, it doesn't make sense to them, because they are using a decently popular service as bandwagon for something they intent to use as a vector for revenue later on.

It makes me sad that they ruined a decent product by playing "me too" and bolting a social service onto it.

The file size limitation will hurt. Don't plan on sharing any full resolution photo from any decently recent smartphone on there, cause they'll all be pumping out images that run over 2MP in size. That is not very attractive, IMO.
