Anyone else feel that the updates button should be contacts instead? You know the main screen, bottom row, middle button?

Does anyone every use that button?

I prefer it the way it is. I always forget to check updates when it's not there. I just access contacts with the icon on the top right. Due to this I just Re installed the channels beta.

No it doesn't. It has contacts instead that's why I reinstalled the channels beta.

Im suprised you want it as updates... I would have thought contacts near the bottom is way more noticable then the lame button I never hit, or when I just want to see the contacts info, etc. A quick button to contacts without a direct compose switch is better I feel.

What lame button? You have contacts by using the button with the plus sign on the top right.

The Update button makes perfect sense!
its the only easy way to keep track of channels once it goes live and very useful to see my contact's updates.

Have no real reason to visit contacts as the chat and group are sufficient

I totally agree. The updates replacing contacts is way more sensible.

I only wish they would improve the notifications (red asterisk). It always shows on the Channels tab for me, but there is no update list there (have to check manually)... and it does not show on the Updates tab.

I don't check my contact list all the time + contacts is on right top also

Yes it does work for contact updates for me. But for new Channel posts I follow, the asterisk only ever shows in the side-menu for (the left one), and then it is on Channels, not Updates. I hardly have any BBM contacts, so I almost never get the asterisk on Updates.
I can still see the Channel updates on the Updates tab, there is just no notification on them, only for contacts.
I'll try to remember a screenshot next time.

The notifications shouldn't just disappear on their own for channels updates if favorited or comments.

And managing a channel requires too many presses and swipes ( getting to my channel's stat page)

This is how it shows for me with only an update for a channel:

The new channel posts are most easily viewed through the Updates tab, so I do not know why the asterisk does not show there.
I prefer if the Channels tab would show only personal notifications (like the subtext says), new posts should be under Updates.
