    The ONLY thing he's done is turn BBRY into a hedge fund in disguise.

    And that is NOT hard (especially when you have good lawyers and someone else's money)... nor is it something to be proud of.
    So what... Then it's a hedge fund with a bunch of employees that still have jobs OR were unemployed people that since Chen joined have been hired and now have jobs.

    Either way, BlackBerry Limited is a viable going concern in 2017 and four years ago, they were given an "if lucky, 6 months to live". Ask the employees that still have jobs, if they're happy to still have jobs...

    The employees of Berkshire Hathaway's subsidiaries don't care if they're part of a hedge fund type company, do they?

    @BBM has DM'd me requesting my PIN. that's as far as it's gone though. The lack of public response is somewhat curious.
    If its going to require them to get each and every person's log in/pin to fix the issue individually (that what happened with me), then it looks like this is a complete disaster. Many won't bother and will just forget about BBM all together.

    What's winding me up now is there nothing from CrackBerry team about this on there home page. Nobody has written a story about it or gotten in contact with emtek about this issue. For as many of us that are complaining here and on social media many more usually suffer in silence and don't bother complaining due to apathy or ignorance.
    Do you read all the complaints here about communicating with Emtek? lol. You think they're magically going to get their stuff together to get a more accurate reply to me? On top of that, I looked on Twitter, very few as far as I saw are complaining about it. All I found was a few accounts saying it wasn't working and a ton Indonesian and UAE porn when searching for BBM. You want a post, to say what? 'BBM is all sorts of broke for some and others not so much.'? I generally like to come with more information but if it's not there, it's not there. I've had a post waiting since Ray mentioned it being an issue but was waiting on more info, which never came, so whatever. You shouldn't be mad at CB or me, we're not the issue. We'd just be telling you what you already know anyway... BBM is borked.

    Myself and a coworker are both having the same issue as of yesterday afternoon. Asking us to sign-in and won't let us reset passwords etc.
    We both are using the Dtek60 for almost almost a year now.

    This is definitely frustrating and shame on those that are trying to deflect this from BlackBerry solely onto Emtek. BBM is still associated with BlackBerry whoever is running it. If you pick a terrible partner to take over BBM then you damage your brand. BlackBerry wants to make money on licencing deals and in his desperation to try to show he was turning the company around, rushed to make deals for short term gains for his quarterly meetings. BBM will lose a lot of users now, further damage the BlackBerry brand which makes it harder for other licencing partners to sell BlackBerry products which further reduces the value of BlackBerry brand. It is like they are in a negative feedback loop and no one cares...

    I worked so hard to get my iPhone relatives to load BBM and use it just to message only me and now I can't even talk to them. What a disaster.
    I keep trying to support BlackBerry over and over and over and it just keeps getting worse.

    Furthermore your a journalist... do some research and contact your sources at BBM and ask them for a quote... if they don't respond then quite frankly that speaks volumes.

    This is journalism 101! We clearly need you to run a story to embarrass emtek into action! Like other people said bbm is licenced from BlackBerry, then BlackBerry may actually give a damn at some point and put some pressure on them also. Like most companies when there is negative PR they suddenly respond. Emtek aren't responding publically right now as they are trying to brush this screw up under the carpet!

    I was able to use my same credentials and log into BBM Enterprise. I once paid for it and don't anymore, but apparently it's still active (BlackBerry never shut me out).

    So could this be it? An active Enterprise account gets you locked out of EMTEK BBM?

    I wouldn't care, but BBM Enterprise only has multi-person chats and not Enhanced Groups.

    Seems like the BBM Enterprise app could be related. I'm having the issue (used BBM Enterprise in the past on a trial) and my wife is not (never used Enterprise). We have the same phone, same network, etc.

    Only issue I have with creating a new BBM account is that I'm the administrator of a BBM Group. I don't think others can add people to the group. How can I get my group back?!

    Thanks for the update. Glad to know that they've fixed the problem for you. My guess is its a server side issue they need to push for accounts of a certain creation history.

    My BBM ID may have been touched by Enterprise during the BBM Meetings days where you had to create a bogus enterprise account to enroll your BBIDs in but Meetings was discontinued years ago. It's possible that made my account different in some way to this day. Either way this transition to Emtek should have been handled better.
    That’s an interesting theory. My oldest BBID is the one affected. I also signed up for a bogus Enterprise account to get BBM Meetings and BBM Protected in order to support BlackBerry. I NEVER changed the Protected account to an Enterprise account as I didn’t want to lose Channels. I tried to sign out of the Protected account when I used that BBID less. I signed out of Protected on the BlackBerry Enterprise website (hard to find). It it stayed a Protected account anyway.

    I migrated that account to my iPad from my Passport in mid-September to preserve it as the Passport was dying and I didn’t want to lose all those contacts. It worked well until today. I was on iOS 11.0.2 and the previous version of BBM so it wasn’t the updates that booted me off BBM. I updated BBM and still can’t sign in. I updated iOS and same issue. It’s currently working on my iPhone 8 plus on the latest update for both but stuttering.

    Newly created BBID's on android and iOS aren't being able to login as well. So it's not just the older BBID's running on BB10/OS that have been booted out by EMTEK. All in all a very BIG FAIL for both BlackBerry and EMTEK.

    I reached out to the person I was emailing with who helped me resolve the issue and was told I could share the below message. I provided them the email address I use for BBM.

    "We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Users can provide us with their BBID email address so we can further investigate. Users can send their bbid to support@bbmtek.com "
