& why the hell are the chat logs not accessible via the file system .. what's the point of saving chats logs if you can't..... save them

I wouldn't mind if the logs were wiped from the bbm app if they were still saved elsewhere. But to lost 40+ important conversations at once is like.. a major turn off

If you haven't updated, don't.
Your chats may or may not be deleted irrespective of whatever OS you are running. Willing to take the risk?

Unfortunately, i did update already... however i'm stuck at "restoring your BBM information" i tried rebooting and its still stuck there.

This isn't good so far.

Someone on the blog post comments mentioned part of the update that I hadn't noticed.

Before for chat with bbm channel owners you could only do the chat bit.

Now you have all of the Bbm chat functions aside from stickers (attachments, glympse, etc)

Before update, when selecting an emoticon, the keyboard would popup.. which was pretty annoying..
BUT the good thing was that if you opened the emoticon screen again, you'd be brought to where you left off...

With this update, every time you enter the emoticons screen it jumps/scrolls back to the top of the emoticon screen..
the keyboard popping up was annoying enough.. now I also have to scroll through emoticons like a crazy person anytime I want to send multiple similar ones (for example, try to select 3 animal emoticons..) you're forced to reopen the emoticon screen and scroll every time...

text box cover up has been reported to the BBM team and I am awaiting an answer.

I also lost all of my chats, settings are still lost for "save chat history" and notification sound is lost if it is not a bb standard one.

Can someone describe what "improved experience for inviting...." means?
I think the most critical BBM issues were the difficulties with finding/inviting friends - so I would like to know if they really improved something. However,

I cannot invite myself to see what happens
I already invited everybody I wanted to

But I would really like to test this, or to learn if/what they changed/improved! In order to not run into another embarrassement when advertising for a better invitation process!

Lots of problems it looks like with this update. Lost the purchase of one of my stickers. The text box thing that has been posted. Lost all of my chat history which was turned on on the previous version. Thinking that once the chat was restarted all of the info would scroll into place, but not.

The wallpapers is kind of nice. Would be nice to be able to select any image for the wallpaper though.

In the Beta Zone version I had landscape orientation mode and could add an inline picture to a Group chat that everyone in the chat could see and it would also be saved in the Pictures folder.

After updating to this version I have neither of those features available. Has anybody else got them after updating?

There doesn't appear to be a way to revert back to the version in the Beta Zone. You can't uninstall the version of BBM you have, you can't reinstall it from the Beta Zone app and you can't download it at all from the Beta Zone website.

Looks like I'd have to get a .bar file for an even older BBM to be able to upgrade back up to the Beta Zone version. Or backup data, wipe and autoload 10.2.1.x and install again from the Beta Zone.

I have seen a lot of reports saying that the update deleted chats however i had no problems with the update so i don't believe its a general problem.

If you are on 10.3 and you do the update, you will not be able to see what you are typing when chatting.

Work around trick: Hide the action bar and that fixes it.

I was just about to report this... it sucks... I don't want to have to hide the action bar... but I guess issues like this come from me running a leak (that didn't quite come out right)

Good idea! Unfortunately, I updated before seeing this thread so lost my individual chats. Strange that group chat wasn't wiped out as well.
