Can I put an animation on the display picture?
Yes, however it must meet a certain size requirement.. of which I forgot lol.
I justed tried to set an animation it said its not supported and the gif wasn't moving as well, it was still on the first frame.
Odd, since I can see animated avatars on Android in BBM. Works on mine.

I tried another pic and its moving on my device but unsupported message still flashed so I wonder it would animate on my contacts devices or not.

Can you suggest me some web sites where i can get Animated BBM Avatars?
Honestly, I've had problems downloading, saving, playing, transferring, sending, doing anything at all with gif files. It's like this OS doesn't support gifs. I'm hunting these forums for a solution, or someone to address it. Had this problem since the first 10.0 OS

You can also use FlashDP.net to create custom animated display pictures for BBM. Test if it works for you.
