So I know that you can only associate BBM with one device at a time, but I assumed that the messages/chats would at least stay on the device that they were received...when I switched to my z10, then back to my passport, all my original chats that were on my passport before were wiped out. Is this expected behavior, or did I miss a setting somewhere?

I've had the same unexpected experience from Q10 to Passport.

Same here... Q10 to Passport and back... also, do you know if there is a limit as to how many times you can switch devices in BBM during a given length of time? I read somewhere on the forums a limit of 15 switches though not sure if this is during a year or some other time frame.

At least I know I'm not the only one...I would have sworn up and down that I had switched back to a device in the past and the old chats were still there...I was shocked that they were gone this time, if I'd have thought I'd lose them I would have thought twice before swapping...

I swap often between a BB10, a Droid and an iOS device. Do not think there is a swap limit imposed by BBM, but yeah, chats were always wiped, regardless of option to save chats in settings. Competition has sorted this out ;-( but not BBM.
