Any chance someone or more likely a group of marketers are collecting PINS for advertisement type adds? I personally HATE spam as most do, and I just see this volume of PIN requests seems suspect. If you want group discussions, why not just use channels as that's what it's for.

Am I paranoid or do others feel the same?

There's been nothing to indicate that's the case. There are a lot of members who want to expand their BBM base, and this is one way to do it. Some prefer BBM groups to joining channels.

Fair enough, I'm cautious when it comes to direct access to my phone I guess. I prefer the channels option allowing me to opt out.
