I used to like Papa Johns for every day kind of pie. But as an EX-New Yorker, I have made it a mission to find good NY style Pie from Main to Florida to Seattle to Honolulu. Pie you can fold with tangy sauce and biting cheese. Papa's used to be decent pie. Not the best, but decent chain quality. Lately the last few pies I got were not good at all. Very skimpy on sauce and cheese, almost like it's now 1/2 of what it used to be. And the dough seems to have changed.

So I'm still hunting for good pie outside of NY or Chicago. I like both styles, but prefer NY to Chicago. Pizzeria Uno in the Midwest is my Chicago Pie place. Haven't found NY style chain that I like.... Yet.
Here and there I find a good shop, but no chains.

I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and the NY Pizza shop in NEW YORK, NEW YORK casino was incredibly good. Just like Downtown NYC.

I love ginger in general, and this ginger ale is very good. It's actually slightly spicy hot.
Would like to explore this magic sport. Guinness is another spot hitter!

    Tip:

When in Fort Lauderdale go downtown and try Squiggys Pizza. NY style and really good.

That's a good tip! Thanks. It's in the ledger.

I get to southern Florida about once a year and will definitely check it out. I have to go to Naples on business next month, so may just pop over to FFL via Alligator Alley to grab some of this pie.

    Just finished my chores.
Got called a great dad today. My 17 year old daughter sent me a text today, just to tell me that.
    She said,
"thanks for not letting me dye hair green or purple, teaching me responsibility and the value of money, what true charity is and for the wonderful family we have". (pretty cool eh!)

    I'm content... life is good.

Now I'm enjoying a Rye and Coke.

I was wondering whether the travel was to Naples ( Italy) since I loved the pizza's there too

Are you part of a travelling band? Wondered if you played an instrument professionally

I used to travel internationally quite a bit, now only US and Canada. It's fun at first, but you grow tired of airports and coach seats on airplanes. It always seems that when I'm tired on a Friday and just want to get home that there is a flight delay, and when it does leave, it's "Screaming Baby Express" all round me.

Funny you should ask. I used to play Keyboards in a Rock/Pop band when I was younger and in a Jazz band professionally later on, but have not done that in years.
I'm a business owner and I have to travel sometimes for my business. I don't mind NY to FLORIDA or CHICAGO to LA, but I go to Hawaii often and ORLANDO to HAWAII is a VERY long flight. You learn to take a sleeping pill, brush your teeth before you get on the plane, watch your liquids so you don't have to get up too often to use the lavatory, and bring snacks in case you get hungry. Then you settle in for the 10 hour flight and just let time pass. Ipads help so you can get the free inflight entertainment that is now via WiFi to your deice. Most domestic flights also have SkyFi so you can communicate via text or email when you are in the air.

I used to have an office in Paris and London, but I closed them. It was too much trying to do business on two continents. Plus the expense and time flying to London or Paris was very high.

    C'est La Vie! A Bientot -

    Bon Soir.

Yes, I can only imagine how that can be tiring. But I'm sure you take great satisfaction in your career. You sound like a hard worker. Safe travels to you always.

Watching reruns of "The office". Dwight is my favorite character.
