Unfortunately I don't drink, and I have spent so much on my Vintage Stereo Systems that I can't justify going "Sonos". But I envy you. Sounds like a great evening.

You're a night owl aren't you? I need to scroll back to see what else you recommended.

Sometimes, yes. I used to love getting up super early in the morning and working out after coffee, but lately I'd rather stay up until midnight or 1 AM and sleep until 7 or 7:30 and work out over lunch.

I'd suggest some "Ben Webster Plays Ballads" to treat your ears to some very "pretty" slow sultry tenor sax Jazz.
Bill Evans is my favorite Jazz pianist. He was also the Pianist in the quartet for that Miles Davis you listened to. He does a cut called "Peace, Peace" that is so beautiful it's poetic.
Any Miles Davis is a bell-ringer for me. I love Miles.
Some love John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme". I like 1/2 of the album very much, the other half, not so much. Too much crazy improvisation.
Dave Brubeck's "Time Out" is a landmark album with the cut "Take Five" being one of the most popular Jazz pieces ever recorded.
Wayne Shorter's "Night Dreamer" is a favorite of mine and has been for decades.
You may also enjoy Stan Getz, especially his work with Gilberto on cuts like "The Girl from Ipanema" - it's got a real Brazillian-Jazz flair.
And of course I love Chet Baker. I like most of that West Coast Jazz sound. You probably know Chet from his hit, "My Funny Valentine"

Then there is Thelonious Monk, and Milt Jackson, and Horace Silver and Art Blakey and about 100 more I could list, but this should get you going. We haven't even touched on super-legends yet like Charlie Parker (also knows as "Bird") nor Oscar Peterson, just to name a few of the big time Jazz legends.

The title " Stardust " caught my eye. It sounded familiar. So that's what I'm starting with.

"Stardust" is probably my favorite Jazz Ballad. Most over 40 years old will recognize the tune no matter who is playing it. It's probably been covered by 1,000 or more artists and bands since the 40's. Benny Goodman's version is the most well known.

That's something we have not mentioned yet either, Jazz Big Band. Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and many others.
Duke's "Take the A Train" is legend, as is Miller's "In The Mood".

I'm taking a long coffee break. Can't quite get into digging into work today. Not sure why.

Coffee and Jazz. Back to work when the first side is over. I'll play the flip in a few hours on another long break.
