I'm an audiophile, so I have a high end vintage stereo from the 70's in many rooms. Yamaha, Sansui, Pioneer, and McIntosh. I have Bluetooth receivers on each one, and I usually drive the Bluetooth via my iPad, but the Playbook and the Chromebook work as well. Big sound. When I do critical listening I want very high end audio, so I mostly switch to Vinyl, but I have no issue with digital streaming.

In the office I have a Kloss Model 88 (like a Bose Wave Radio only much better) that I Bluetooth to. I have ripped my entire collection of CD's to the Cloud, so I can stream them anywhere I want.
Then you've got the thousands of streaming choices to choose from. I never go without. Music is central to my life. Especially Jazz. But I diversify. Classical, Rock, Blues and American Standards. I listen to them all.
We've got a Sony 7.1 system in our living room. I hear it everywhere. Nothing as extensive as your setup, but it isn't inadequate in any regard.

After you listen to "Kind of Blue", here is an excellent documentary on the making of the album with celebrity interviews on how pivotal the album was.
It will give you some insight as to how this album changed Jazz, and why it was a landmark album:

    Thanks for the link.

I'm currently watching some old reruns of "You Bet Your Life" on Youtube. Groucho Marx was hilarious.

Posting in the "What are you listening to" thread thanks to BBry-Lover

I actually took a photo of some Jazz Vinyl on a Turntable. The youngsters that never saw a turntable play records before are going to have their minds blown. If they could hear a high end audio system with vinyl playing, it would blow more than their minds.

    Hint - See my Avatar.

I listened to Miles Davis. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for the recommendation. I have a few vinyl records myself, but from the Alternative/indie side of music. Now I'll head on over to, "what are you listening to thread"

    Relaxing and posting before work.

Glad you did. Miles was so innovative. EVERY CUT on that album was done on the first take, except for one. That's talent. You have to remember 80 percent of Jazz is improvised, so these guys were ultra talented to get everything on the first take.

You would probably also like John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" and Dave Brubeck's "Time Out". these round out the 1959 albums that changed the shape of Jazz.
Brubeck's "Take Five" from "Time Out" is a landmark because it's in 5/4 time instead of the standard 4/4 time. With 5 beats per measure it changes the whole dynamic of the rhythm.

If you want to relax instead of hard listen, great chill Jazz can be found on such albums as Ben Webster's "Ballads"
