    I read once that the bad habit of sleeping too late (beyond the midnight hour) for whatever reason is actually bad for health, especially as we grow old, as the body really has its cycle to work and needs us to sleep at certain hours in order to do that properly. At the very least 6 hours a day.

    Food style also factors very much. Drink plenty of water, and I mean just water, not coffee, tea, let alone soda and/or alcoholic substances. I read that most of the common western food are bad for health (I'm an Indonesian live in Jakarta). There's also the needs to eat fruits in a proper way, such as eating them with our stomach empty.

    I'm borderline Type 2. I have a tight reign on my diet, I have to. I have to avoid natural fruits, although I cheat with seedless grapes. I also have to stay away from wheat bread, which I love. The list is rather long.

    I read the labels of all foods before I buy them. I have to. It isn't just a habit.

    Yes, diabetes. Yes, I can eat fruits, but I must be picky. Watch my weight, but I don't have an issue with that. My problem is not being able to metabolize the insulin I produce. The other extreme is not producing enough insulin.

    I tend to listen to my doctor much more trustingly than an online phone forum. I understand the aspects of this issue quite well. I've been dealing with it for 20 years. Weight loss is not my issue, not gaining weight is. I don't want to hit the tipping point.

    Much of what you say is good advice, for one with a completely healthy metabolism. I'm not one of those, by birth, not neglect. I don't eat or buy frozen fruit or vegetables. They taste horrid, and are not "fresh."
