Finally, after a year of constantly watching, we are into the last set of three discs of the original Dark Shadows series from the 1960s and 1970s. We've been through nearly 1245 half hour episodes.

Wow. Barnabus Collins. Brings back memories. I never watched much of the original series being a "Soap Opera With Vampires", but I'd watch the DVD.

    Enjoy.

I used to watch it in high school nearly 45 years ago. I think we have about 30 episodes to go. Then the movies, "Night of Dark Shadows" and "House of Dark Shadows." I'm loving it. We'll be in withdrawal in two weeks. We started about a year ago. Watching about four episodes about six nights a week, sometimes fewer days.

My girlfriend in High School used to watch it. I tried once or twice, but happened (I think) to catch "set-up" episodes where they were setting the stage for something to happen, and I was lost and bored.

    --------------

"The Hobbit, Battle of the Five Armies" OK, but not exactly what I expected.

Currently watching "The Drop" also on HBO NOW via Amazon Fire TV. James Gandolfini's last movie. So far, it's fantastic!

Not sure about that. They were all filmed, not shown live, five days a week. Very raw and real.

I don't remember much. So long ago. I recall a "Staircase" in the house or mansion that at times would transport them into the past or future when they went down (or up?) the staircase. I remember Barnabus., and something about someone (a female) helping him walk around in the daylight.

That's all I remember and even that is foggy. Too long ago.

    -------------------------

"The Drop" was amazing! I'd watch that again.

Yes, a stairway in the east wing for three episodes, I think. Then, before they flashed back to the past, Dr. Julia Hoffman was injecting a serum to change him back to a human. In the period we are now into, Barnabas is gone. Jonathan Fridd is now Bramwell in 1841. The series ends in this era.

I don't remember much of it, either. However, I only watched the last year of it (1971) when it first aired, so I never got to see the entire story. Now, we have been buying two sets (four DVDs) at a time and have gone through them all. Again, we're on Collection 26, the last four discs. The final in the series.

Yeah, great stuff. We're on the heels of the end of the whole series. It's taken us over a year to get through it. We got our first discs in December of 2013. We've been watching four episodes a night for about five or six nights a week. 1245 episodes total in the whole series of five seasons.

    Fun stuff.
