I'm going to jump the band-wagon, and install NOW. It's so strange, because Friday is my day at College that's totally boring, so I spend most of my day Searching Crackberry, and It came to me that we hadn't seen a recent update for BB6 and Bold 9700.

Ill let you know my findings.

I shrunk the OS to 69.6 MB with BB Boss.

It also looks like Blackberry Maps is updated in this OS, but I still have not tested out to see whats new. Other than that I don't see any noticeable differences. I will post later about Memory Leak, Battery, etc.

Here's my short-version OS install guide if anyone needs a refresher...

    ELITE1's Quick OS6 UPGRADE GUIDE

    1. (Optional) Uninstall any previous OS from your PC.
    2. Download OS to PC. Use Internet Explorer to do so, not Firefox or Chrome. (For leaked versions, the browser is irrelevant though.)
    3. Following successful DL, run OS file to install OS on PC.
    4. On BB, go to BBM Options, scroll down to Backup section. Ensure Remote Backup is enabled AND also conduct a Local Backup to media card.
    5. Go through any 3rd party apps that have option to save settings to media card, and conduct Backup to media card from menu within each of these apps. (Examples: all Bellshare apps such as BerryBuzz & BerryWeather; QuickLaunch; Shao's apps such as Wallpaper Changer & SixTools; Show Me The Images; etc).
    6. Connect BB to PC. Open DM and backup device. Close DM.
    7. (Optional) Use desktop program like BBSAK or BBMCP to backup 3rd party apps.
    8. On PC, navigate to
64-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader and delete file therein called Vendor.
      32-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader and delete file therein called Vendor.
    9. (Optional/Recommended) Run BB Boss or Shrink-A-OS/BBHybrids Tool.
    10. In same AppLoader file where you deleted Vendor, double-click on Loader to initiate OS upgrade. Follow onscreen instructions.

PS I've posted this before in other threads, but there always seems to be some people that appreciate a step-by-step each time.

I don't know if 576 will have the same bugs as 570 on other devices, but here's 2 of the most noticeable bugs with 570 and their simple fixes:

    1. Coming out of Bedside Mode, BB is frozen or Trackpad won't scroll.
*FIX: Toggle Lock key on & off, ie press the Top Left key twice to quickly Lock then Unlock.
    2. With 3rd party themes, App Screen is blank (no icons at all)
*FIX: Click ESC key and when you return icons are restored. (Only happens once after each batt.pull/reboot/reset)

After a couple of battery pulls in the last hour i noticed this:

    1. Every once in a while, the Wi-Fi signal drops suddenly then returns to full signal. I am in an area where the signal is the highest (by the router ) yet it still occurs.

    2. I remember seeing when I used the last Bold leak that whenever i restarted the phone via battery pull, sometimes it would take it 2-3 min just to get to the Blackberry logo screen where it shows the loading bar. So far, this seems to be fixed

The browser is still shutting down on large pages. I love everything else about OS6, but I hate that.

Unless there's a setting that I missed changing, the fact that this is still a problem should be a scandal.

I can't believe it... It seems RIM guys are sleeping over a prominent bug which has been there since which has been there since .480 and there have been 5 builds after it... I'm talking about the banner alarm bug... Its still there, so please inject ribbon cods manually or before loading this build...

Hey Guys....nothin' new in this Leaked OS. Problems, Non-fixed-bugs, no more memory. The best OS Leaked is 6.0.0.534... Runs so good. I recommend it! You can use a theme 6.1 icons, awesome theme!

My advice is: DO NOT INSTALL THIS OS 6.0.0.570

If you want something better, buy the new BlackBerry Monza or Bold 9900 (touch screen)

I see you have a 9780. What device does your sister have?

576 has leaked for 9700, but not (yet) for 9780.
570 has leaked for 9780, but we didn't see it for 9700.

This thread is on 576 for the 9700.
