Just talked to a Verizon rep in my area (Pittsburgh, PA) and she said they are going to separate the BB plans on November 1 to BIS and BES. The BIS will be at a lower price, but she wouldn't tell me what it was. I'm going to make a guess it is at the $29.99 point, but it's just a guess. At least Verizon is coming down a little bit if you don't have to use the BES.
This is the wrong thing for them to do. They are not saving face on this, they are just makeing more money. T-Mobile does this as well and they have priced their BES plan higher then the BIS plan. Bad move in my opinion, especially for those of you who have BIS currently configured to go to an Exchange server that is running OWA (Outlook Web Access), but not BES on top of it. With the seperation of the plans if you don't get the higher plan you can't tie into OWA enabled Exchange servers anymore.
BAD MOVE YOU VERIZON DINGBATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
phone arena dot com is reporting that verizon data plans for the bb will be going to $22...
I hope this is true. Especially considering they have just changed their policy on changing your plan during a contract (you no longer need to extend it to change your plan...)...and the arrival of the new pearl in early november....
I'm a happy dude...

and you better not be ahead of me in line at the local 'burgh store...
$22 would be awesome, all she told me was that the BIS would be coming down in price, she wouldn't give me an exact price. That's great for me, I just need BIS, don't have to worry about a BES server.
Your info is wrong based on this link. Look closer, it says that the data plan for regular phones will come down in price, but SmartPhone (which the BB defaults under) will ramain at $45 or current price.
Also, the cutdown of the BB email data package if it's split into BIS and BES will mean that you can't check ANY non-pop3 accounts if you get the cheap BIS setup, which unlike now will SUCK
i'm just going by the text by whoever posted the shots it CLEARLY says:
"we've also been told that add-on data plans for BLACKBERRY DEVICES will be lowered to $22 a month, but smartphone data add on will remain at $45..."
I realize that blackberries are technically samrtphones, but verizon has specific seperate plans for them.... It appears that they will be getting a break...
AHA! The source of the $22 rumor turns out to be PhoneArena.
About the third post down... man, this $22 thing dates back a ways.
Now if I could only track down the CB source of that phony photoshopped monstrocity BGR is trying to use to claim the Bold/Curve2 are being siamesed to make the new VZW BlackBerry...
