Hey, Im sure this is probably common knowledge, but being a "noob," if you will, I found out how to turn the camera flash on for an extended period of time. I have used this feature on the Motorola Q9 or whatever my girlfriend has but go to Video Recorder -> Options -> Video Light and turn it on. It will turn the light on for as long as you have the video recorder open I believe.

Thanks Crackberry! You've changed my vision from iPhone to Curve... lol

Hit me up on the Blackberry Messenger. I dk how it works lol

You can also just hit the spacebar twice while in the video recorder. It only stays on for 20-30 seconds I believe so as not to waste away the battery.

    And welcome to the crack!

I saw this somewhere on one of the forums. I set my left shortcut button to the video recorder.....you never know when you're going to need a flashlight in a hurry. I just have not tested how long it stays lit.

Learn something new every day, I didn't realize there was a backlight option for the video camera.

There is no video recorder for any Curves besides the 8330, though with the new OS coming out there will be a video recorder option.

Welcome to CrackBerry. The camera light is a LED, they don't usually burn out.

LEDs can have a relatively long useful life. One report estimates 35,000 to 50,000 hours of useful life, though time to complete failure may be longer.

Does anyone know if there is a flashlight program that activates the video light, instead of using the screen or led light above screen? The video light is much brighter. I know you can hit the space bar twice in the recorder, but was looking to set a quick key, and have the light come right on.

Yeah they should make an app that is just made for a flashlight so you don't have to turn on the video camera for it.

Don't forget, you can also just use the screen backlighting as an area light. This works great in dark rooms, where you need more than 1 LED to see.

It's not under Media if you go to your apps their should be a Video Camera app that is the one with the Flashlight the app your going under is the one to watch the Videos you recorded/Downloaded

    8310 doesn't have a video recorder.
...and this was covered earlier in the thread.

I just use the free blinkberry demo and set all the signal strengths to be white and the signal times maxed out so it is a constant on. Then I assign the demo to a convenience key... Boom, one button flashlight. Granted, it isn't the flash's light.
