Which applications do you find most useful or just plain great. It can be either productive or non, doesn't matter. Just want to get an idea of the things I want to make sure I get when I get my Curve.

Opera is an alternate Browser, and Viigo is an RSS news reader.
Both Free.

I use a 2gig, and it has been plenty for me. Almost 200 songs, 100 ringtones, and a 1 hour tv show - with 1.3gig still available. The OS of the device will determine what size will work well.

I agree 100%. I barely use the BlackBerry browser now, besides for YouTube or mobile sites, and i can have my laptop sitting right infront of me with Google on my screen, but if I need Google Maps for something I'll pick up my Curve and use it on there LoL
