Looks RIM is going to $99 based on weekend demand. A little too quick in my opinion but I haven't bought yet so saves me some $$$ if it's in fact true.
"The new $99 price, with a two-year contract with AT&T, is for sale on Amazon and other Websites, while AT&T still has it listed for $199. It emerged after lackluster reports described the Torch's launch as underwhelming and "not hot enough."
Awe. $99 should have been the price from the beginning!
i wrote the author an e-mail expressing my displeasure in this article, because I don't believe RIM should be getting bad press like this attributed to them, when it is clearly not their actions.

yeh its a mis-leading article. lame. amazon and other sites had been on this since the start.
Well guys, I was in the mountains last week and did not have the option of going to the store Thursday. I called AT&T today and asked what the best price I could get was...yep $99.00. $118 and change with tax. I was shocked but I was not about to ask any questions. So there may be some truth to it.
The author of this article is an unedited @sshat. The most egregious of several errors in fact is this:
"With BlackBerry, users are also saddled with AT&T, whose service and data plan pricing system can be problematic."
Though she may well be referring to the Torch, it certainly isn't written that way and as-is sounds like Blackberrys, like iPhones, only run on ATT's network.
are clams taxes? i don't think you know what clams are. maybe you do but using the $ sign and then saying clams is like saying $200 plus dollars...just trying to help.
He or she doesn't care, they want to feel better about themselves by making others feel unsure about their own choices while inciting conflict. It's a scream for attention and a hope for validation.
RIMM shot themselfs in the foot, think about this, more tmobile customers would have upgraded and got this phone, rather then att. ATT already has the iphone, tmobile could have used a device like this to get all those customers to upgrade from there 8520s or even the 9700.
