On the storm one forums, there was alot of debate and good tips on what settings worked best for the touch screen settings but i havent seen anything yet for that in regards to the storm 2. Does anyone have any suggestions since I dont know what the three settings honestly do and I want the best from my phone?
100/100/6 make the phone feel sluggish....i have mine on 500/500/6 and the key rate...set it on fast. this should speed up your touchscreen experience. make it run like a champion! LOL
Tap interval is the minimum time needed to register a tap on the screen. A shorter tap interval will register a tap (like selecting text, or moving the text cursor) just about any time you touch the screen. A longer tap interval will make you have to touch the screen and hold your finger there a moment before it registers a tap.
Hover interval is the amount of time that is required before a hover event is triggered. A hover event is like holding your finger on a key of the keyboard in landscape mode to bring up alternate symbols under that letter. So a shorter hover period means that pops up faster, whereas a longer one means it takes more time before it pops up.
These keyboard settings should make the keyboard much better, but you may have to play around with these settings to find which works best for you:
Open the BB menu by pressing the BB Menu button.
Scroll down to 'Options', select by pressing the icon.
Scroll to 'Screen/Keyboard' and select.
Scroll to 'Touchscreen'.
Increase the Tap Interval to 500.
Increase the Hover Period to 1000.
Increase the Swipe Sensitivity to High (6).
Key Rate to Fast.
I tried your settings and found them to be perfect, now if I can only find the best way to turn off the auto complete word function once and for all Ill be satisfied but now inputting text and emails are a breeze, thank you so much bud

In LANDCAPE mode... Options>>> Language and Text Input>>> set Input Style to Auto Correction... then just below that, click Show Text Input Options and uncheck Auto Correction.
im going to go ahead and say that i think its just a placebo effect. ive tried all combinations and i havent noticed a single difference between any of them other than the key rate. i think the hover/tap settings are there to make people think that there's something going on...but thats just my perspective

I agree completely. Same experience here.

ive said it before and i'll say it again. while having different touch settings would insist that the touch settings can be changed, i think its just a placebo effect. ive had both S1 & S2 and ran both the highest and lowest touch settings and noticed NO difference. the only thing that really made a difference was the swipe sensitivity. but thats just me
I have the problem of selecting test or groups of messages when I don't want to. Is a higher setting better for that? (500/500/6).
It seems sometimes the screen selects in two different spots.
