All credit goes to CodyBB all I did was find an alternate working link & find a fix for some people who are getting messages that they are required to pay for the service.


**UPDATE*** If you are getting a message from the Bell version of Telenav that says you need to pay your Sprint-Nav account needs to be re registered.

HOW TO REGESTER YOUR SPRINT-NAV ACCOUNT IN 5.0.0.xxx; You need to find a bluetooth item that your phone will see as a GPS, Macbook, PDA, Some windows comps, blackberry etc.. Then go to:

OPTIONS > ADVANCED OPTIONS > GPS > GPS DATA SOURCE > CHANGE TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN DEVICE GPS.

AFTER YOU EXIT THE OPTIONS MENU GO TO SPRINT-NAV AND REDGESTER WITH YOUR NAME AND EMAIL. YOU WILL NOW BE ABLE TO OPEN THE BELL VERSION OF TELENAV AND IT WILL WORK.

I cant make it any simpler than that if it doesn't work Im sorry becasue it works fine for me and hundreds of others.


Go to this site on your phone, dont use the JAD link below: GPS Nav

*** When you go to that sight on your "MOBILE" phone browser you will not see your phone listed that's ok click on the samsungM610 and it starts the download for your tour (maybe its hidden for a reason)

I have confirmed that it works with the Sprint 9630 and I would recommend the download for anyone who cant live with sprintnav / telenav.

Just downloaded it and it seems to be working. This is SWEEEEET!!!! I'll be taking it out for a spin later on in the afternoon. I'll post my results later. Thanks again. This is a great find.

SprintNav will no longer work once you have updated your os to 5.0.0.230 so if you want to keep using GPS I suggest you follow the instruction in the OP. Hope this helps.

I downloaded this, and I get a message to either pay for the app or exit. I had this problem a few times with Telenav for Sprint Tour, but it always went away. Anyone else have this problem/know of a fix?

No.

This is going to suck but I would recommend downgrading to 4.7.x.xx and download sprintnav then set up your account. Once you have done that then re-install 5.0.0.230 or 191 and then install the telenav app and you should have no issues.

As far as I know you will not be charged. I have been using telenav over sprintnav since I got my phone a couple months ago. I wrote a post in this forum some time back about how to use telenav instead of sprint nave. Of course everything you do is at your own risk and I wont be held liable.

Yes, sprintnav is powered by telenav. Log into telenav.com and you'll find your sprintnav stuff there.

Well I just installed 230 ,used telenav Bell Mobility jad and it gives me "Download failed"-909 Application authentication error- while trying to install.
Ive loaded 191 , 230 over 5 time in 2 weeks trying get app to work, Im freaking over it!
Those that got it to work...congratulations.
Back to 4.7 I go.

Just got it to download and it did say it costs 3.50 a day or 10 a month. Not sure about everyone else.

**UPDATE*** If you are getting a message that says you need to pay your account needs to be re registered. There are a few ways to do it. The quickest way is to pair your phones bluetooth with your macbook or computer. Go to options -> Advanced options -> GPS and changed from device GPS to your compuer. By doing this you trick sprint-nav and you can open the sprint-nav application to register. You will need to enter your first name, last name & email address. After you register just close the app and reopen the telenav version that told you to pay, you will notice the message is gone and all is well. Enjoy!



I just got the dreaded pay message. Has confirmed if we actually get charged after receiving the message? I was working fine since Friday, I wonder if I need to re setup my sprint nav account which means I need to down grade to open the app good grief.
