Wow just after I did my update (Apalachian .61 )last night after mulling over it since release.
    Go figure.
Mark my words Essex is not to far behind then, remember S2 drop just after S1 5.0 OS came.

I doubt it. Customers would MURDER Verizon and RIM if they released a "Tour 2" in less than 6 months after the first one. They will probably plan it like the Storm and wait around a year.

haha I did mine the day before yesterday
And I saw it not as the S2 dropping right after 5.0 on the S1, but 5.0 being released right before the S2 dropped. Maybe to show how 5.0 was, and prompt people to upgrade? I don't know. To me, it's an important distinction.

That would be awesome... that's when I'm eligible for upgrade

Agreed. I'm happy with the Stock OS on my Tour. I'll let this upgrade work its way through the masses first and then will I consider it.

It's not going to be anything big... just an update to fix a couple bugs maybe. I don't know why everyone gets so excited, it's still 4.7.

Waste of time. Load 5.0.0.230. Far superior to any 4.7.1 right now.

Not a waste of time if it makes Bluetooth actually usable.

How ironic that I bricked my Tour last night and decided to upgrade to 4.7.1.61. Gotta say, I'm really liking it so far...

I'm running 5.0 but I'm not about to push out a leaked update to all 250 users on my BES. Plus the 5.0 isnt a wireless update so I'd have to do each user manually. The 4.7 update fixes the problems most users are complaining about (Bluetooth, Sluggish, etc..). I agree that 5.0 is superior, however 4.7.1.61 is my best option when managing the number of users that I have.

How do you Verizon guys get 5.0 to work on your Tour? I tried installing it and got nothing but problems with it. My phone was slower, it froze all the time and eventually it bricked my phone.

I am brand new to blackberries (tour is my first...ever). I liked the look of 5.0 for the short few minutes it worked. For now I plan to upgrade tonight to the legit update, but if you guys are able to get your Verizon tour to work with the 5.0 i might be interested in finding out how to do that properly so I can actually use my phone this time.

I think one of the major reasons for this is because 4.7 and 5.0 has many differing options and settings. I've noticed this when restoring a full 4.7 backup file to a 5.0 OS... I've learned my lesson. You're safer doing an advanced restore after upgrading to 5.0 and then restoring anything that is just DATA related (messages, sms, mms, etc.) Do not restore any settings/options. Go ahead and change any options to the way you want it after upgrading.

I did the Appalachian update when it first dropped and have not looked back, the boot time is still the same, I clocked mine with .61 and my wife's with the stock .40 both take 4:21 to boot. How is the startup time with 5.0?
