As we speak the end is around the corner but few die hard BB10 users are still around. With BBM long gone Dodo, it is about time, stragglers are brought home This is a group only for BB10 device users to seek, give help and just general chit chat about favorite Blackberry devices they have.
Please pay attention that this group speaks only English. It is not a dating/flirting/lgbt group. If you cannot structure and string a whole sentence or if you just want to occupy a slot and watch others, if your first and only post is to ask for invite; this is not for you.
If you have really got the drift of why you should join, please tell us which BB10 device you have and leave your pin here or message me your pin. As group moderator I reserve the right to invite. Please don’t send multiple posts asking for addition.

Tons. "Still BB10" is one that doesn't require an invite. People come and go as they choose. Discourse is civil.

I love seeing people using anonymous PINs to connect. It's so obviously more private and secure. Who in their right mind would ever give a phone number to a stranger?

That's one thing I never understood why WhatsApp destroyed BBM back in the day.
Why in the world are we giving numbers instead of PINs ???

Also, with WhatsApp, one cannot use it on two devices simultaneously without manually activating the annoying WhatsApp Web which leaves a permanent notification, as well as probably drains more battery, and needs to have the original device powered on at all times.

On BBMe, I could power any of my KEY Berry's at any given moment, open the app, and the chats will all simultaneously sync and be up to date, right where I left them off in the other device.
It's even better than WhatsApp backup because it seems to sync constantly automatically whereas on WhatsApp, I would need to manually backup the chats before removing the SIM card and placing it in the other phone, then delete WhatsApp data, then re-authenticate and let the chats come back.

    Very inefficient in comparison.

Yes, mostly with company numbers, legally linked to that specific company, and given to someone else if you leave the job. Is it not what you were referring to?

Yes but no. In 2019, most people no longer use landlines in their personal and business lives as primary number. If you're in a position with a sales perspective, you share your mobile digits so that clients will follow you if you leave for a competitor. Most companies no longer pay for a separate device and support BYOD programs to save money.

In Europe you get a company mobile. No landline (but sometimes landline too, depends on the job)
You can save your contacts or even sync them and take them wherever you are want.

True. I meant personal information. But small businesses are much more susceptible to business email compromise and other fraud that's because they are so cavalier with sharing personal information.

I own a couple of small businesses, and I would never give out my personal mobile number to a stranger. I use alias phone numbers and emails for sales and other contact with strangers.
