It's not that don't have time, I know people are busy and I get that, don't even mind if they reply after every hour. It's just them being themselves.
Some aren't the best at simple communication.

Haha. Awesome topic for discussion. I think some people nowadays grew up with or have spent a good portion of the last part of their lives with instant nonsense feedback as a misleading reward, constant mindless flashy cartoons or games, ADD, and a culture of always being online, with an electronic device or texting short blurbs back and forth. Net result - some people are not capable of mindful discussion and some people simply don't engage in it anymore, or often enough. Our societies to some extent perhaps no longer ask for it or require it. This certainly does not apply to everyone or even most people all of the time. However, I think it applies to lots of people a lot of the time and often to many people most of the time.

How's that for a long reply?

Pretty much spartacus. It does feel that way, where it's just not required and where people just don't understand how to have a conversation. I'm in my early 20's and I'm one to have long conversations so I don't fall under that category.
Too bad the people that aren't as good as we expect them to be, aren't reading this..

If you really think that the people who you/we expect them to be, and are not doing as you expect will read your post and change their minds? We live in a society today that may not have been how we were brought up, or how we sometimes would like to interact with others and it just don't work. Unfortunately for us this is today's day and age, and if you want to change it I wish you the best of luck trying, but in my opinion you can get a brick wall to respond faster then today's society when it comes to having normal long conversations.

Agree. And there's nothing more irritating than adding someone and all they say is 'hi'. I meann, please - say something meaningful so we havve something to chat about. The worst thing, though, has to be people whose first question is asl. If we get along, then you get that info, not when we don't know each other.
