Has anyone ever managed to have an app (in my case a headless service) play some audio on an incoming call? Either play it along with the ringtone, or temporarily silence the ringtone to play its own stuff, or achieve it in any other way?

I've been trying to make a native headless app to say the caller's name using speech synthesis. Speech synthesis itself works perfectly fine, the app does what it is supposed to do (recognizes incoming calls, gets the phone number, finds the caller name in Contacts, etc.) but its audible output (caller's name) is halted/queued until the call ends and only then it can be heard. Using the _sys_inject_voice (Phone Audio Overlay) permission doesn't make any difference - the audio is not played even during the call but only when it ends. Which of course makes it useless...

BB10 is the first platform that doesn't seem to make it possible. It was doable on Maemo, MeeGo and everything else... How could there not have been the famous "app gap" on BB10 if they blocked almost every feature allowing people to make useful apps....?

Any hints would be highly appreciated...
