    Try looking at the RIM docs that go with your version of s/w. For example, here is the link to 4.6.0 which is on the Bold right now.

    BlackBerry JDE 4.6.0 API Reference: Package java.util

    jave.util does not show a Map class, which says that the BB does not inherit it.

    Yes. There is no Map class in java.util. That is the answer.

    Java for phones is not the same as Java for the desktop.

    You have two options
    * create your own version of Map.
    * use someone else's.

    No idea what your trying to achieve but theres no use in getting wrong information from people who probably dont have a clue..
    You can use the native Blackberry App by "Invoking" it, heres the API's you should read up on..

    Invoke
    BlackBerry JDE 4.7.0 API Reference: Class Invoke

    MapsArguments
    BlackBerry JDE 4.7.0 API Reference: Class MapsArguments

    MapView
    BlackBerry JDE 4.7.0 API Reference: Class MapView

    If you are making a GPS based app then have a look through the api for the GPS classes and the Blackberry Developers site also has a few videos on introduction and advanced GPS techniques

    geeneeus, the OP is talking about java.util.Map, not the location-type map.
