I want to start developing my first BlackBerry application. I have installed eclipse, and am downloading the BlackBerry PlugIn and Storm JDE.
I was wondering A: Do I have everything I need to start developing?
and B: Will my App work in 5.0? I am running 5.0 on my storm and rather not code for 4.7 if it won't even work on my own device. Is there a Storm 5.0 JDE?
    Thanks for the help

    A) in addition to the JDE you'll want to buy "code signing keys" ($20) in order to run the app on your storm. The keys are required to use certain api's, anything in the api doc's that have a lock icon.

    B) Unless your using 5.0 specific api's, your app should work on 4.7, a 4.7 api's should work on 5.0.... Although results may vary

    C) Did you download the 5.0 jde? Think it's still beta, but get that one. Check out the downloads for the latest simulator, there is a simulator for 5.0.0.252

I believe 5.0 is not fully backwards compatible, so old apps (compiled with 4.7) might not work 100%.
