To backup and update your phone. Use windows explorer to move stuff.

Sounds like your problem resides with not knowing that you don't need special software to move files from your BlackBerry to your pc

You've answered your own question; that's exactly what it's supposed to do. You must select them and move them to a place of your choice.

You need to first install BlackBerry Lin k to get the drivers in place, and it's also Link that starts the necessary services needed to allow Windows to Map driveletters to your BlackBerry device. When you are logged on in via bblink, you can also enable Remote file access folders, that you later can access directly from your phone whilst on the road.
