The verizon wireless page for software updates and the desktop software is working just fine, however the "download now" link for the new Desktop software version 5.0 is broken.
You can get the software here and 5.0 IS authorized by verizon however techs have not been trained and I have not downloaded and installed it yet to see what it looks like or how it works.

5.0 look the same as 4.6 and 4.7. 5.0 now give the option install or not, roxio and media sync (nice) . The sync and backup is faster in 5.0 as well.

THere have been reports as well I has this small hiccup. Error about being connected to the internet, this has seemed to have gone away.

You can get the new 5.0 Desktop Manager at BlackBerry.com now. It looks a wee bit different.
