I'm unable to sync my BB-Leap with Outlook.

Using as clean a 'by the book' setup as I can, here's my config:

Versions and system info:

- OS: Microsoft Windows XP (NT 5.1.2600) Service Pack 3
- Running through Virtualbox 5.1.30 r118389 (Qt5.7.1) on Debian

- All Blackberry software and registry entries were purged.

- Outlook 2007; Version: 12.0.4518.1014
- was sync'd with a BB-8700 to get it up to date.
- it was never used manually.
- the sync was done using (bbdt-for8700)
710_b042_multilanguage.exe obtained nov17

- After Outlook was updated, all BB software and registry entries were purged again.

- Installed (bbLink) BlackBerryDesktopSoftware_1.2.0.52_B59.exe

- In BB Link, in the Leap Device Home panel, i see:
- Software Release 10.3.3.1463
- OS Version: 10.3.3.2205

On starting BB Leap i see: "Failed to prepare device"
and Sync Contact/Calendar fails.

I am sincerely trying to keep my contact list and all my notes out of
the cloud and get going with a phone that's smarter than the 8700.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how to get BB Link to work as advertised ?

I'm not any type of IT guy. Wasn't/Isn't XP EOL'd few years ago? Not being a total smart a55 here. I think you're due some kind of technology intervention. Good Luck.......

Chuck, I'm hoping for a technologically smart IT guy to confirm/deny that i've wasted my time buying into unusable tech.

Are you using BB-link, with what device/os? is it relyable for you? do you also use blend or the older desktop manager?
