    Works flawlessly on my laptop, but on my main PC it starts reading contacts, gets to number 45 and reports this error - then stops.

    Desktop software is latest version. I'm syncing to MS Outlook 2007 on both PCs. The only difference I can think of is that the desktop uses the MS Outlook Connector so I have multiple email addresses in one Outlook.

    Any idea how I find which contact gives this error ?

    This probably won't help, but mine did that too. I rebooted my computer and the everything worked fine.

    searched a bit more - look for "DM sync" in these forums.

    In short ...

    • backup your data first ;-) - this will clear out your device databases ready for refresh from your PC
    • in Desktop Manager, go to Backup and Restore, Advanced
    • on the right, under Device Databases
    • for each of the following, select it and hit "clear"
    • Address Book
    • Address Book All
    • Calendar
    • Calendar All


    The sync should work ok after that. MAKE SURE it's not set up as a one-way sync from the BB to the PC - or you could lose all your data.

    The above worked perfectly for me and thanks to the previous contributors for that solution.
