    I just got a blackberry passport, upgrading from a torch. I backed up my torch in blackberry desktop software, but dont have the device anymore. Is it possible for link or my Passport to access the data in Desktop software. I would like to not to have to start again with my contacts. Any help is much appreciated.

    no you can't add any of that data to your new phone. if you had the original phone you might be able to do a device switch but with OS10 you can't add the file to your phone. Sorry

    You can transfer some of your info from your Torch to your new device using BB protect; if you used it on your Torch.

    On your Passport go to Settings, BB Protect, then select restore from OS7 device

    You might want to purchase a cheap OS7 phone just to transfer. I see them on Craigslist and Ebay for really cheap - $30 or less!
