Verizon gave me a website to download the Desktop Manager, because I do not have it , but the Desktop manager version is 4.7 where as my Pearl is v4.5.0.77, what should I do?

You're confusing things - Desktop Manager has it's own versions, nothing to do with the OS version of the phone. DM version 4.7 causes a lot of problems with bb's except for the newest ones, 4.6 without Media Manager (it's a memory hog and doesn't work that well) is what's recommended lately.

just go too blackberry.com BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop Software - BlackBerry Software at BlackBerry.com and download the the version you want. i have 4.7 and it seams just fine
